“Yesterday I tried to walk through an unplowed driveway of snow to get to my mailbox. I am 71 years old and not in very good condition; that should have stopped me from such a chore. But it didn't. I got the mail and sent some mail out, which I haven't been able to do since the storm started on Friday night; but when I started the return trip, well, I tripped! I fell down into the soft snow and couldn't get up. Fortunately I had a cell phone with me and called 911. In less time than I can even tell you, two wonderful police officers (one being the Chief) were helping me to my feet. They not only got me up out of the snow, they escorted me on foot through the deep snow back to my home. God Bless these guys! They are the best! I'm very grateful that they helped me out of a dangerous situation in which I managed to put myself. Thank you from the snowy bottom of my heart.”
