  Really enjoyed my visit, bought a little of everything to bring back to NC, going to make cheesesteak w/fried onion ,sweet peppers on hoagie rolls today !!

  Good functional Cheesesteak. Nice old school deli. Don's left me wanting more. A lot of cheesesteak for the price but no passion, flavor nor vibe in the place or Cheesesteak.

  I have had steaks from Don's,whenever I get the chance, ever since I was a kid. I have been living in Milwaukee since 1994 and to this day, some 24 years later and a new generation in fact, I still compare EVERY steak sandwich I buy to Don's. When I worked in the local area, I used to take orders from coworkers and make runs to Don's for the food. When i ran with local Fire Station 40, I had the pleasure of eating at Don's everyday. Today, when I think of Don's Steaks, I'm home. You can say what you want about iconic Philly Sandwich shops like Pat's and Geno's, in my opinion they are good but not even close to Don's Sandwiches. They are way overrated and over publicized. Don's is that Diamond in the rough without an advertising budget are a huge, flashy sign. You learn about Don's through word of mouth.
  
  Today is my 54th birthday and I was chatting with my family that still lives in the area where Don's is located, and I ended up having my birthday dinner at a local Milwaukee steak shop that was also good but nothing compared to Don's. TRUST ME, if you are ever in the area, this shop is a short drive from the airport. Go to Don's and not fall into the old Philly steak hoopla and get a great sandwich. At Don's you will get more for your money without question and you won't regret it. If you catch some traffic on the way to Don's, I promise you that it will be worth the wait.
