Fishing Creek Nature Preserve

  This is the true jewel of Southern lancaster county! It has approximately 2 miles of stone road to drive through with the Fishing Creek running along side all the way through it. There are 3 water crossings with paved concrete. Water is usually less than 4" deep running across it During normal coditions. So there is no worries of floating down stream! Stream is well stocked with trout 2 times a year. Very nice place to take children in summer months for wading in creek. There are no facilities here at all, as it is a simple conservancy area with NO camping,open fires, or use of ATV VEHICLES PERMITTED. pleaze be kind & do not leave the roadway & take your trash with you.

  A cool place to ride your motorcycle through, unless you are trying to keep your chrome clean! Its a mixture of dirt and gravel roads, so it can be tricky if the roads are wet. I have been here on my bike a few times in the winter. There are some creek crossings which are fun! Make sure you have enough clearance to cross the creeks without getting in trouble!

  This place is great for hiking, fishing, running, etc. Very scenic and a nice place to spend at least a few hours. Be on the lookout for large pickups driving in groups who seem to only want to ruin everyone's time, especially if you have small children there as the roads are narrow and hard to navigate
  
  There are a few areas in the preserve that are stocked with trout for the season and this place has really great views in the fall. There are also several places where you need to ford the creek as it crosses the road. Be careful when there's is high water. Use the turn around areas near the fords if the water is too high.

  Nice park. Basically it's just a old dirt road that runs down in a gorge for a few miles with three river crossings, I wouldn't attempt your a Prius across it ,but any other vehicle should be able to handle it just fine.. if you continue to follow the road you'll end up at the train tracks on the River of the Susquehanna.
