BB&T is now charging $12 a month for it's customers who don't have direct deposit. I have currently have 3 accounts at BB&T. That's $36 a month. Absurd. But since I have everything online banking and auto draft I've just dealt with it. But that hateful, surly teller today was the last straw. Planters Bank has FREE checking with no minimum balance.
