  Amazing scenery. The trail involves walking on sketchy rocks which were quite slippy when I was there.

  Nice hike along a steam. There are some alternate trails as options to extend the hike. The trail I was hiking seemed to dead end, probably because of recent storms knocking trees over.
  I've been here a couple times and it's usually decent.

  Took my kids here last weekend. Three and five years old, not too long of a to go from end to end, and lots of chances to play in the stream. Very nice hike, beautiful scenery.

  I took my kids (7, 4 and 2) so they could play in a stream, and this trail certainly delivered. Really nice trail, I would definitely return another day to hike some more. We were all wearing hiking/water sandals, and recommend that others do the same. We came in from the tunnel side, which involves a slippery hike up and over what might have been a railroad bed? On the way back out we went through the tunnel underneath... had to ferry the kids one by one across some just-under-knee-high water on the road side of the tunnel, but it just added to the adventure.

Trout Run is a lovely trail that forms the northern portion of two adjoining preserves, the southern portion being Steinman Run. I took what I assume to be the The preserve reminded me of the much more popular Tucquan Glen with slightly tighter footpaths due largely to the many ferns that grow there.

The first tract in Trout Run Nature Preserve was donated to the Conservancy by the Hauer family in 1976. The remaining lands were acquired from 2000-2016 with funding from the Natural Lands Preservation Fund of Lancaster County and the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR).
