A must go to if you have a child. They do special reading hours with service animals and have one of the largest children’s book collections you will find. They also update the books regularly so you will never encounter books that are run down or in bad shape. They also have children’s computers (in addition to regular computers) as well as puzzles and games. Good selection of movies and books on tape too.
I've been checking books out of the Leola Library for 18 years. They have great kids programs (at least they did when I was a child, and I see posters for kids events when I stop in). While it's smaller and older than some of the other libraries in the Lancaster branch system, they can order any book/movie/audiobook for you. Though I only stop in a handful of times each year now, some of the workers remember me from my childhood when I checked out books every week, and they still ask about my life and seem to genuinely care. Great for kids.
Books! It's a library! Not the largest in the Lancaster network for sure, but any place with books is great. And it doesn't cost a thing.
