Great place for food and live music! Some of my favorite bands play here. Mississippi Pig Farmers playing southern rock and blues, Lou Franco Project playing classic rock, Scott Marshall playing hillbilly rock- always a good time! The pulled pork is awesome and the shaved brussels sprouts will knock you out. They cater and have food trucks and have some classic gourmet cooking along with just plain barbecue.
We tried this place out today for the first time. We had the burnt end brisket platter and it was very good. We also had the grilled shaved brussel sprouts which were very tasty. The baked beans had a unique taste and were also very good. We had the place to ourselves for lunch today. Lorraine was our waitress and was very attentive. The Gumbo and Jambalaya starters were tasty, but more in the Creole style than Cajun and not what we expected. We still plan to visit again in the future to try the other BBQ offerings.
First time here, pulled up and wasn't impressed with the building. That all changed once inside - immediately greeted by friendly staff, seated in a great location near the "hearth". Waitress was prompt with drink orders, let us take our time ordering. Food was good, a slightly different bbq style than either of us were used to, but nice. Brisket was sliced, not pulled, and was just "fatty" enough. Side portions were on the small side, but we were there for the bbq. The wings were also from the grill rather than fried one usually gets but juicy. The absolute highlight was the ribs- fall off the bone and tender! The staff was pleasant and attentive, and it seemed as if they all worked together to get the food and drinks out, regardless of it being their table or not. A bit pricey at first glance, but factor in that we took home enough food for at least another two meals each, it was reasonable. Worth going back for the ribs, everything else adds to the experience.
Fantastic establishment. They make their own sauces and cheeses. Roast their own hogs. Friendly service and yummy food.
