Best park within 50 miles hands down. They have something for everyone, shade when it's hot, and two playgrounds for the kids.
We went to an event this evening at the park where Santa came in on a fire truck and the kids were treated to crafts snacks and photo opportunities with Santa. This is an outstanding use of the park and was a wonderful event put on for the kids it was free to them all you needed to do was bring an unwrapped toy or non-perishable item.
It's a nice area, two good playgrounds and I like the ~mile hike trail
There is a hall, available for renting for parties or meetings, it has a kitchen
My son has grown up with this park. I love how it has shade so the kids aren't just baking in the sun.
This is one of the little gems in Chestnuthill township. This is a high usage park with rentable indoor facility that holds about 80 people.
Grounds are clean despite very high usage. There is ample parking, basketball courts which on weekends and week nights are full. They have a well appointed playground, which too shows high usage as well but very well maintained. Bathrooms are not sized to patronage. It has a very nice walking trail where you can see local wildlife like deer, squirrels, foxes, occasionally a raccoon or bear. This is Northeast PA so expect wildlife.
They have an outside concert venue with a few concerts over the summer. They have environmental and recreation programs year long.
Great place to spend a summer afternoon.

We found Niko and his owner taking advantage of the trail in Chestnuthill Township Park, and they can't wait for it to open this summer, weather permitting. Phase two will add additional parking and stormwater controls, along with restrooms, a pavilion and additional trails leading into the rest of the park.
