Now the gates to main parking lots are closed for winter. You could still park the car around the gates walk around the mountains.proper shoes would be great when there is a snow and ice.
During the ski season, restaurant is only open to ski lift holders, not accessible from the big Pocono state park.
Nice and quiet with perfect view. I go there every weekend to walk, no car during the ski season, but you could walk there when the gate is closed. Park your car, take a picture, do BBQ, walk around the mountains to see different views or get on the trails from the main road , go down the mountains .
Beautiful views. Relaxed area. No hurry up. Would stop again to hike there.
Nice ride up to the mountain top but was a cold windy and foggy morning and had to sit in the car and wait for a photo op. Couldn't we see until the cloud passed except a few diehard hikers braving 30 mph winds behind the building. Will return.
Love the views from here. Walk the trails for the view around the mountain. Can be really windy sometimes. Delaware Gap can also be seen. Restrooms are neat. Parking is available, few spots though. There are viewing spots all along the way from bottom of the mountain.
This park is beautiful! I hiked the Indian Trail and it was very Rocky and required some rock climbing. The view 1/2 way through the trail is amazing and so is the one at the parking lot where the cattell cabin is. I recommend printout the trail map and have it with you. I almost got lost. It was a great workout. Be sure to wear hiking shoes. Check yourself for ticks when you are done. My pups and I each picked up a tick and I got tested positive for Lyme disease.
