Dr. Pilla has been a wonderful resource to me when I have found myself in situations where I feel stuck and am unsure as to how to move forward. I decided to begin seeing Dr. Pilla on a regular basis after listening to my wife talk about how much Dr. Pilla helped her. I have been working with Dr. Pilla on and off for about six months to a year and have found that I can lean on her for help with many types of issues including dealing with depression, learning how to be a more confident person, and improving my relationships with others. I am confident that you will find Dr. Pilla to be a highly skilled and wise person who will always manage to find a balance between challenging you to push beyond the comfort zones that limit yet always making you feel safe.
Dr Pilla has been my therapist off and on over the past 6 years. She has worked with me on issues primarily stemming from depression, and has provided most valuable guidance on many fronts, such as marriage and family, self-esteem, work. She has helped me develop self awareness and insight through compassionate listening and gentle questioning. I believe that her skills, knowledge, and tireless curiosity have greatly improved how I think about myself and others. She provides a safe and non judgmental atmosphere in which to explore thoughts and ideas and new pathways for living a positive life. I met Dr. Pilla when she gave a presentation on family therapy in New Jersey. My family has worked with Dr. Pilla since a month after we saw her speak. She is an extremely compassionate and skilled practitioner who has adapted standard systemic family therapy techniques to specialized fields of treatment. I have practiced as a clinical social worker for 28 years. It has been my personal experience that most clinicians rarely have this level of expertise. I cannot recommend Dr. Pilla highly enough.
