Beautiful trail, nice and flat. Nice picnic area too.
Stress releaser, peaceful ,and a trail to walk, run and bike family connection in the truth of my experiences the best trail in this area
I adore this flat, shady rails-to-trails conversion. It's a wonderful and well-used place to walk, run, bike ride, and dog walk, between Pen Argyl, Wind Gap, and Stockertown. The first parking lot, listed as "Plainfield Township Trail #2" in Google maps has a sitting/picnic area and porta-john. Turn right from the lot to go north, and the flat trail becomes a rougher gravel trail which eventually climbs up to a quarry and ends in a parking lot in Pen Argyl, around 2 miles away. Turn left from the parking lot to go south to Stockertown, a beautiful 4.5 mi walk/ride/run on a fine gravel and tar path along Bushfield Creek, to the parking lot in Stockertown on Rt 191. Benches and porta-john also available there. There are a couple of road crossings in between where it's also possible to park to make your walk shorter. This whole side of the trail is wheelchair accessible.
The trail crosses Rt 191 and continues about a mile through town.
We have enjoyed parking in Wind Gap and walking or running to Stockertown where we discovered Devery's Bar, a little place with a good selection of cold beer and pizza, pierogies, & wings to fortify us for the walk back, making a nice 9.4 mile round trip. The back of their parking lot is right on the trail extension.
Nicely cared for, quiet peaceful trail to walk on and enjoy nature. My husband's preferred walking trail.
Great bike, walk, jog trail. Black top, Porta John provided at trail heads. Good parking at Sullivan Trail trail head and Knitters Hill Trail head. Scenic, follows Little Bushkill Creek. Several benches along trail to stop and rest.
Close to at least three farm stands for fresh produce in season.
