(October 3, 2013, 11:38 am)I took the Solar Thermal Hands-On Design & Installation Workshop. The five day course covers every topic in the course description to the degree possible in a five day class format. The hands on installation portion was both fun and extremely informative in my opinion.
Unless you have a great memory that can span 5 days, I do Not believe this course covers all the material to the depth necessary to assure a passing grade on the NABCEP entry level certification test. It comes close. In my opinion, five (eight hour) days just isn't enough time to be exposed to and absorb all the info that is, and rightly should be, considered fair game by NABCEP for the Entry Level Certification. Get the GOOD books. Read them! If you have $10,000 and more time, install your own system in your own home (home owners can do this!). Pay a GOOD plumber and electrician to consult on the project and do the things you legally cannot do (like maybe adding another breaker in the breaker box).
