  Highlight of our vacation. We were all initially a bit scared and anxious riding a horse first time. Great host and company riding with the owner (missed her name) and Janna who was great with our 9 year old. Definitely recommending to anyone who wants to try.

  For many years my sister and I have preferred a particular riding stable in Lake Ariel, PA. Formerly known as Happy Trails, this stable is now under new management and name, Why-Not Riding Stables. This weekend I went with my 10 year old son, who is a completely new and inexperienced rider. This stable is now operated by a wonderful, nurturing and experienced family. The horses I have known for about 8 years look more beautiful and healthy than ever before. Their SUPER HUMANE treatment and care for these beautiful creatures, warmed my soul! Not only do they care for the horses that are working, but they also have rescued unwanted horses or ones the owners could longer afford to care for. I saw one of the newest rescues, and I knew, he was in good hands! If you are ever in the Poconos area and are considering going riding, I strongly recommend this place. After a very wet season which is also their first, they are struggling to survive. More than that, the family relaxed style of their trail is how riding should be! This is an amazing place, gorgeous views, but also run by my terrific people! ♥️♥️♥️

  Awesome experience with my family. It was a group of 10 including children. The staff was very patient with our crying very beginner riders, they were able to make them feel relaxed. Would definitely recommend this place, look forward to another visit.

  My daughter and I went recently. We really enjoyed it. The horses were ready when we arrived and the staff, were welcoming and friendly. It was very obvious that they love all their horses and treat them well. The ride was pretty and relaxing. Will definitely go back.

Hotels near Why-Not Riding Stable. We did not enjoy ourselves there. The pool wasnt inviting looked dirty. The landscaping is not kept up. The basketball court had weeds growing thru the floor so that was unusable.
