“As a child, visiting my grandparents during the summers, I would visit the Newfoundland library. My grandparents started it in 1967. It is so good to see it is still around. I believe my little wooden table and chairs is still in the children's area. Great to see they have celebrated 50 years. Libraries are very important. Please support them!”

“I think this branch is a God send to the local area. Something you may not think about is their huge selection of DVDs. I gave up paying the high price of TV service 5 years ago. With your libaray card you can take out 4 DVDs for up to a week. Or per day. Imagine watching your favorite tv series with no commercials. They offer an inter library access to get ones they dont carry in house. All at no cost to patrons in good standing. Ps all should donate though. They have a tight budget and need your help”

“This is my favorite library. It is part of a community center. It has a cafe, piano room and more. When you are in the cafe you are in the library too. The next room has more books and a welcome desk for the whole community center. Upstairs is the children's library room. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere is just right for reading of course and maybe just sitting for peace and quiet. ”

“The conococheague institute in mercersburg pa is an outstanding place to learn about the local history. This year they put on some excellent events. My favorite was the pow wow. I know for myself it was very educational and I believe for a lot of other people it was also. I believe that event was held in a very respectful manner. And it seem to have a lot of community support. I've been hoping to make it back for some of the lectures the hold their and other educational programs. I'm just disappointed my schedule hasn't allowed for it. However the first free moment I have that they have an event I will be back. Most of their events are great for all ages. I know my children loved the pow wow.”

“Beautiful set in the Appalachian Mountains, this renovated train station is a blessing to the local community. Not only does it serve the citizens in Pennsylvania, but also those in Maryland to whom it so close by. They have many family activities, youth activities, and classes through the entire year. Everyone should sign up for their weekly or monthly emails so they can see what is next and join the actives of this local treasure.”

“Penn State Berks’ Thun Library has a new name, at least a new name to me. It is now the Boscov-Lakin Information Commons at the Thun Library just confuse a new person to the area. I've had a Penn State library card for over five years now and it is valuable to me. I recently ordered a hard to find book from the system. I had difficulty signing in online so I called the library direct. I called on Friday afternoon and the book arrived on Tuesday. Wonderful service! I have four weeks to return it so I'm taking my time reading this wonderful novel which I think it is a first edition from 1955. When I have the time I love to go exploring the library. I love the bound magazine books like Time from the 1960’s. It’s fun to look back and explore history. There are computers for use and there is WIFI available for those who brought their own. The public restrooms are located in the center of the building toward the back. There is visitor parking up the hill and there is plenty of parking if you are a student with a parking pass. One thing that stands out is how quiet the library is. It is never enjoyable being inside a Berks County library, too many loudmouths.”
