What a neat little museum! I was in RI for a meeting and, as I was driving home, saw a sign for this museum. The name interested me, so I took the exit and made a visit. So glad I did!
I learned so much about the culture of RI and the workers who came from other countries to work in the mills.
There are really beautiful and well done recreations of a school room, a house and the inside of a church.
Make time for a visit, you'll be so happy you did!
Also, the young lady at the front desk was very informative and passionate about the place!
A great exhibition on the role of immigrant labor, especially Québécois immigrants, in the making of the industrial revolution in southern New England. Well appreciated.
Wonderful presentation of the history of Woonsocket and the Industrial Revolution. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and the docent who did our tour, Lois, was amazing.
This museum tells the story of many of my ancestors. It was a beautiful representation of their journey. We spent mother's day here, which was a perfect choice to celebrate my mother, grandmother, and the women that came before.
A very well kept museum with a lot of information; videos, audio, and interactive activities. Our party consisted of ages 7-88 and everyone was happy.
