“This was my first trip from CT to Village Drum & Music! Not knowing what to expect, as I had been to a chain store, and a local family store back home. I was thoroughly impressed, the service here at Village Drum. & Music, was well above exceptional. They offer many services including new and vintage drum sales. Restorative services for both drums and accessories. Would recommend a visit to family and friends.”

“My separation anxiety preschooler just started here 2mths ago. He had just a few words and is already more vocal. The director Jessica is beyond awesome!!! The teachers are outstanding!!! There is family engagement, learning, field trips, everything you can want in preparing your child for kindergarten. I can't say one bad thing about this preschool. In just 2 months they have already proven to me that the right choice was made for my preschooler. The plus side...my preschooler loves his teachers, the director, and school! He looks forward to going everyday!”

“We love this place. Our child started here just over a year ago right after she turned three months. At the time of writing this review, she is 15 months and watching her change and grow has been the most amazing experience of my life. My wife and I both work full time, so sending her to a trusted local daycare where she is going to thrive is very important to us, considering she spends more waking time with them every week than with us. Especially, as you could imagine, at three months. Once Upon A Time is that place for us. Our daughter started in the under 12 months class and had some great infant caretakers. Her last infant teacher is currently the lead and is wonderful with the infants. They take them outside and ease them into more of the "big kid" activities. When our daughter began to take steps, they eased her into the 12-18 month class, her current class, by spending some days on and off with the older children. As soon as she could walk, she started with them. I am completely amazed by her advancement in the past 3 to 4 months. Words, colors, body parts, walking, singing, dancing, eating, her manners, her smiles, high-fives. She is like a sponge, and I like to believe that it is the teachers here. She now comes home with art projects, new dances, and every week she is learning more and more. They have Tadpoles, an app that lists their diapers, meals, and they have little pictures at the end of the day. This is generally where I see what she has been learning. They school also has WatchMeGrow, another app and website where you can watch a live webcam of what’s going on. My coworkers like this too, as they sometimes stop by my desk and ask me to fire up the webcam so we can watch them during circle time or while they are napping. One more thing that Once Upon A Time does is give me advice. Being a new parent is tough, and we don’t know when to stop giving her bottles and start sippy cups, or when to stop with the baby foods and maybe try something more solid. The teachers have a personal relationship with our daughter and know when she is ready for new things as she grows up. Sometimes it is difficult to take advice as a new parent, so I am happy they offer it to me. My job is to pass it onto my wife… Finally just to touch on these negative reviews. Look, if you think your kid is going to go to daycare and not lick the floor and get a stomach virus and give it to the rest of the family, you’re dreaming. They’re kids. They do gross stuff all the time and get sick. The daycare, in my experience, does the best they can. And we are not the only parents that have stuck around the whole time we have been there. I think their snap judgement of this place is unfair, and is inspired me to write this review from another perspective. Some people are more crazy about their children than others… Anyways, five stars from us, and we will continue to send our little one here for the foreseeable future.”

“I can’t believe that this dream learning center exists in Rhode Island. I searched far and wide for a dual language program to ensure my child kept pace with her peers in the Boston and NY metro areas. What I found was this wonderful center that surpassed any other I explored in terms of curriculum and early learning. Not only does my child speak two languages, but she’s following a rigorous curriculum (that she thinks is fun) and is being prepared for kindergarten. Just this week she learned the geography of South America and she pointed out details on the Dominican Republic flag. Last week she recognized Bolivia in a book and used scissors. She’s 2. We love to see her run to hug her teachers (who are top notch educators not “child care workers.” (We’ve seen the center’s very thorough teacher vetting process and we are thrilled). The staff communicate daily - and everyone in the building knows who my child is (and we) are. My daughter thinks she’s a celebrity when she arrives. :-). I love the focus on learning and the ever learning present tone of safety and professionalism. When I visited I was sold when I saw the administrators outside running a safety drill. They are proactive, always aware - and I feel like my child is with family. I’m so lucky that someone recommended this hidden gem. I don’t worry about preschool or two- three day programs as we get everything at New Era (even gymnastics). I can’t say enough that’s positive about this place. If you want top notch learning that’s better than your district or nearby center, certainly go here.”

“Sensai Mike is wonderful. He has loads of experience teaching both typical and special needs kids, not to mention classes for adults such as self-defense, fitness, karate. He taught my son at the autism project and I was so impressed by him that I signed up my other two typical boys for classes at his dojo. He tailors each class to meet the needs of the individuals in the class. Unbelievably patient. Very competitively priced. I highly recommend Sensai Mike and his dojo. -Sherri McQuade”

“We are new parents and recently enrolled our 5month old. Nervous to let her go to strangers, common for new parents. Honestly, they made us feel comfortable immediately. Our daughter transitioned quickly, and within a week she’s smiling when I drop her off and smiling when I pick her up. I honestly have no complaints, I think this place is fantastic.”

“It is very clear that diving is a passion for all of the instructors that work at Kalipso Dive Shop, and I wish that I could give them more stars. I can honestly say that I do not think I would have completed my certificate if I had gone somewhere else. Tim (the owner) and Krista were more than accommodating and patient with every interaction that we had, and they made it their mission for me to successfully complete the course. I was definitely not an easy student, but if you are willing to put the work in to succeed with the course, they will as well.”
