First time in the office was last week but, really impressed with the care my grandma received. Ben Colston, PA is great and was really respectful and caring. My grandma has Alzheimer's and during the evaluation he was very thorough. Dr. Mandell was very intelligent as well and understanding. They answered questions, recommended reading material, and told us the truth about what to expect. They also didn't try to send my grandma off for a bunch of unnecessary testing. It really seems like the providers really care about their patients. The medicine that was prescribed has worked wonders so far. They also worked us in for a next day appointment due to extenuating circumstances. Definitely deserving of a 5 star review.
I rarely review doctors and medical staff, but Dr. David Buckland has performed so admirably, and helped my wife so much, that I simply must let people know.
Prior to seeing Dr. Buckland, she was constantly hospitalized with a painful and elusive condition that none of the neurologists in the metropolitan Charlotte area could pin down. Her agony was incredible, and doctor after doctor tried, and failed, to help her, despite their best efforts.
By lucky chance, we were referred to Dr. Buckland, and he has been treating my wife for a year now. He took the time to listen when others wouldn’t. He performed complex and detailed testing that other doctors and institutions didn’t think to perform. He made a proper diagnosis for a rare condition that all other had missed. This man worked tirelessly, and intelligently, to find the root cause of the disorder, and labored equally as hard to find a therapy that has kept my wife’s condition manageable.
When she has an exacerbation, he is there, day or night, to help solve the problem and keep ease her suffering. It is the kind of dedication, and truly human compassion, for his patients that we all hope to receive, yet rarely get in modern medicine. He is a neurological physician of the highest order.
I once asked this doctor why practice in SC, instead of the Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, or Stanford, where a physician of his caliber belongs? His simple and humble answer, because this is where there are people in need, and I can spend as much time with my patience in this office as I like. I was stunned at his answer. There is no ego behind his actions, no jockeying for high pay or status, just a genuine, heartfelt, deep desire to help people. And this truly Is an area where we need good doctors, not to travel hundreds of miles to find treatment. He is in the right place, where we need him.
So, in closing, I recommend Dr. Buckland as a physician with not only a heart of gold, but an encyclopedic knowledge of medicine. A quick mind, and a determination to help those that need it most. If you are looking for a brilliant, tenacious, and caring doctor, look no further.
