I recently contacted Carolina Pipe Repair to clear a clogged sink drain which I was unable to clear myself with a 25’ auger. Chris, the owner, quickly sent a crew to my home to address the problem. Upon arrival, the crew listened attentively as I described my situation. After documenting my layout and setting up their equipment with great care to avoid damage to my kitchen, the crew bore scoped the pipe in an attempt to determine the nature of the stoppage. I was quite surprised and impressed with the technology employed by Carolina Pipe Repair, which was something more akin to what I see in my work in the nuclear industry than what I expected from a seemingly simple pipe stoppage repair. After evaluating the pipe, the crew successfully cleared the clog with their equipment. The pipe was once again scoped to ensure the pipe was cleared. I was able to see the video on a rather large screen attached to the equipment, in real time, allowing me the comfort of knowing for sure the pipe was clear of all debris while simultaneously showing me the condition of the 20 year old pluming. Quite handy! I found the crew to be extremely competent, professional, and respectful while in my home. They left me with a cleaned drain and the satisfaction of knowing that I now have a go to plumber if the need were to ever arise again.
I thought that was the end of it, when a couple days later, Chris contacted me wanting to discuss the job. He had reviewed the footage from the job and determined that my main drain line is actually cracked, and not fully draining correctly (a couple sags in the line). He discussed several options that I may want to consider in the future. Chris neither acted falsely dramatic about the condition nor did he attempt to pressure me into an immediate repair. He offered suggestions which provide me with the ability to evaluate the condition moving forward and options if I run into issues with the damaged pipe, all at no additional cost. I was also provided a copy of the footage for my own use. I truly felt like this service went wildly above and beyond what I perceived as a simple clog repair. The price charged for the work was extremely competitive, without taking into account the extra video analysis of the condition of my system.
