Owner/Director Helen Barnes is amazing with children, her energy, caring, intelligence and Masters Degree in Early Childhood Development make all the difference in the world when it comes to her competence and positive results working with children and young adults of all ages!!

I have seen phenomenal levels of development in my son while in attendance at the academy of young scholars! The director Ms Helen Barnes continuously amazes me with her knowledge and experience in the child development process I have witnessed firsthand her dedication and commitment to maintaining this as a school of higher learning (academically, emotionally and physically). The teachers all share, show and exhibit her exact same passion and my son has grown a bond/love for each teacher. Make no mistakes and at least visit to see for yourself.

This school has made such a positive impact on my son. They genuinely love the students and that is reflected in the behavior of my son. My son had some issues at previous school where he had been kicked out of PreK twice in the span of several months, this abrupt behavior change was unsettling to me and prompted me to put him in therapy to find out what was going on. Less than one week at TAYS and my sweet loving lil boy who enjoys learning was back to his normal self. The director and all of the teachers here are amazing and I would recommend this school to anyone looking to put their child in a loving and learning environment.

Both of my daughters go to this academy. If you are looking for academic growth, emotional growth and physical growth in your child this is the place to go. The children don't stay in their seats all day. They have interactive learning with the teachers. The students are outside a lot and the director is a firm believer of her staff participating outside and inside. The director only places the best teachers in front of the kids and holds a higher standard than most public schools. The staff has to be willing to participate outside as well as inside. The kids get to explore the world outside and do hands on activities everyday. My daughters have brought home vegetables that they planted and water everyday. They come home excited to tell me about the cool bugs they saw or the new books they read. Both my daughters are not just getting an education with books but they are receiving and education with the real world. The staff and director work really well with the kids to help them learn how to deal with their emotions. They talk with the students to try and understand why they feel the way they do as well as help the kids learn how to deal with those feelings. This school goes above and beyond my expectations for a daycare and for most schools.

I need to brag about my sister, because she will never brag about herself. The director of this facility has a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education Administration. She was the Director of the Year at the Goddard School in Fort Mill in 2009. The school is beautiful and she talks about her staff all the time, how wonderful they are. If you are looking for a really great preschool, not a cheap place where they just teach ABC and 123, you should go visit this school. Your child will get a real education and know how to think for themselves. It will be worth your time going to visit.
