This small but mighty church makes much greater impact on the community than the congregation size would indicate. They share the love of God with the city of Memphis by offering a host of community programs from a Korean Cultural Summer Camp and Korean Language Classes to cooking, sewing lessons and special events.
The Korean Church of Memphis is very hospitable. There is a delicious, traditional Korean lunch served every week after the service so it's easy to get to know people in a relaxed setting. Services start at 10:45 promptly so its a good idea to arrive a few minutes early. There is plenty of parking. The lunch is free but it's nice to give a donation! After lunch, there are special programs such as Sunday Sew-cials, Korean Language classes, Korean Holiday events and Traditional Korean Drum classes. There is also a Ping-Pong club with an instructor to help novices. A nominal fee is charged for some programs, others are free. Since the congregation is small (about 20 to 30 people at the time of writing) there is no formal children's church or nursery but there is a children's lesson during the service. There are also classrooms available so if the need is there, I believe arrangements can be made.
All in all, this is a great place to attend. I am not Korean but I love this church!
Update 9/14/2019. The church has grown à little and there is now a formal children's ministry from elementary school through high school. There is also a room for nursing mothers.
Many activities from language to cultural classes.
Nice area. Cold church.
Hi. My name is Pastor Ho Jin Lee from Memphis Korean Church. We are trying to be a church that loves God and loves our neighbors. It belongs to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It is a small church, but it is doing many things with the strength of the Lord. We invite those who want to experience the grace of the Lord together.
