Elwood's Shack

What can I say, this is one of my favorite hole in the wall joints. The BBQ is good, the tacos are great, the pizzas look wonderful and the dessert are a treat. I had the burnt ends on this visit and I will gladly get them again. They came with pickled onions and jalapeños. I was not sure I would like them but they complemented each other well. You will find me there whenever I am close at lunch time.

This was our first time in Tennessee and we wanted some authentic Memphis BBQ so I hit up Google and found this place had some really good reviews. They named it proper, this place was a shack and we thought for sure GPS was nuts when they wanted us to turn into the local home good store but we followed and ended up at the Shack and thank God we did. The food was AMAZING. the burnt ends and brisket were to die for as were the beans. If your anywhere near this place do yourself a favor and pull in and make your taste buds smile.

I've been trying to find a place in Memphis that was comparable to Fox Brothers in Atlanta. Elwood's did not disappoint. This will be our go to place for BBQ here in Memphis. The food was amazing! Spicy slaw won my ❤️. Everything on the sample plate was perfect. We ate everything and then got a rack of ribs to go for the drive home back to Georgia. My husband and I are truly food snobs. If it's not great we don't want it. If I'm taking the time to post a review then please try it out! They deserve the recognition. Great food and fun atmosphere! Great work y'all! We will be back!
