  1100+ yr old Live Oak. One of the oldest trees in Texas.

  It's a cute park, but small. There's a walking path around the tree and a more open area for the kids to run in front of the parking area. It's about 1/4 mile or less from the beach, though. Definitely a walk-able distance, even with a 5 and 10 year old.

  Beautiful tree and area. I love the woods near the bay. Worth just driving around and checking out the area. The State Park is a great place to stay.

  While we visited the Big Tree we had a surprise when several old cars showed up and had a blast looking over the cars and realizing the tree was old when these cars were brand new

  Interesting view of local large oak. Wish more historical info available re the many osks in area. Other spots nearby to also view large oaks and birds resting
