I have been a diabetic for 41 years. I feel I can handle my diabetes all by myself. That’s the first mistake a diabetic can make. I was unimpressed with the endocrinologist I had seen and gave up on seeing one. I was letting my PCP manage my diabetes and he did a good job. I was content with my diabetes control.
I met Dr Aziz during a hospital visit for Multiple Sclerosis. My diabetes was out of control, as I was given steroids for the Multiple Sclerosis exacerbation. Dr Aziz did a wonderful job at getting my sugars down and manageable. A few years would pass before I was convinced I needed help with managing my increasingly complex conditions. Dr Aziz now treats me for both diabetes and Hoshimotos Thyroiditis.
It took patients on Dr Aziz’s part. I am not an easy case, nor am I the ideal patient. Despite this he works with me and is helping get my diabetes under better control.
I once believed there was no “great” endocrinologist in San Antonio. Now I would recommend Dr Aziz to family, friends, and strangers, alike. Diabetes is no fun, but Dr Aziz, provided you do your best, (most days) helps to make it bearable. He is up to date on the latest treatments and technology, making treatment and communication that much better.
