Before my husband and I even were married, we talked about how we would send our kids to The Pineapple School when we had them. I knew it would be tough to get in because an early pre-school Spanish immersion program in San Antonio is a hot commodity!
Almost as soon as I found out I was pregnant with our first child, I got on the waiting list. I had a couple of back up centers that we had toured in addition to The Pineapple School lined up just in case. I went to leave the first week's tuition at the first back up place and turned right back around without leaving payment because I just knew that wasn't going to be the right place for my baby. Thankfully, a family member was able to step in as a backup AND a spot opened up at the Stone Oak location just in time.
When we walked in for our first family meeting, I was overwhelmed with confidence that this was definitely the right place for our daughter. Our daughter is now 3, and we also have an infant son enrolled in the program now. They are both thriving!
Friends and family are always impressed with our daughter's vocabulary, annunciation, and overall intelligence, which we know is directly attributable to the immersion program.
I can't say enough about the teachers (maestras) and staff. We all (children included) have loved every single one of them. They make you feel like they are caring for their own children in how they treat your children.
Thank you, Pineapple School! We are so grateful to have access to such an amazing child development program.
I was fortunate to get to send my son to The Pineapple School and I only have good things to say about the staff and curriculum. The facilities were always clean, all the teachers and staff were always smiling and were always so sweet and helpful. My son was always excited to go to The Pineapple School. One of my favorite memories was when my son was in one of the infant rooms and I could see through the window outside that his teacher was holding him and dancing. They both had big smiles on their faces. My son was very engaged and excited to learn Spanish. I was very blessed to have been able to send my son to this great daycare and would recommend to anyone.
For anyone considering this school for your children, I can offer a review and hopefully help you make a decision. My 5 star review is not only an emotional hurrah, but upon reflection, I realize that the value this school provided will be missed.
*My daughter attended for 3.5 years and my son for 2 years. There is nothing more important to a parent than PEACE OF MIND (emphasis!), and this is what Pineapple gave me.
*The teachers are nothing short of family for your children. There is so much love and nurturing for your child, it must be a cultural thing like another post stated, but I am thankful for it. While the school does follow the required curriculum for Pre-K, it also focuses on creativity and play. This, to me personally, was more important at this formative age. Most of the maestras have degrees in child care, and some with advanced degrees as well. These are the people raising your children when you are not. I can truly say Pineapple was our second home.
*One of my goals was having them learn Spanish. This can occur better if they are exposed to it daily with conversation and day to day activities, not through tutoring alone. There are full time Spanish immersion programs near my home, but I made a commitment to drive 40 minutes round trip 2x a day for this school.
*The cost of the school was reasonable to me for the service they provide, which includes nutritious snacks and meals cooked fresh daily from a fully staffed kitchen.
*The school is well-maintained, and very clean. Children are also taught good hygiene habits. This matters come flu season.
Every establishment will have something that you may not agree with, but my experience was that Pineapple's admin made efforts to communicate with parents, hold meetings, even impromptu, and try and resolve any concerns that may have come up. The owners are on site every day, and care about their business very much.
In closing, I can say that if you are fortunate enough to get a spot, grab it! You will find a loving, caring and safe environment for your child to explore and grow! I hope this review has helped you!
My daughter has been attending The Pineapple school for over a year and the only thing I can say is: THANK YOU! Glad we found you guys. Best daycare y San Antonio! My kid loves it.
