  A wonderful, well documented walk that shows and expresses the south Texas forest experience. The wilderness area has well marked reals and paths many wheel chair accessible. It is a pleasant walk that includes joggers, walkers, hikers, and others without being too crowded. The Park service has made it great learning center for young people. One of the best walks in the area!

  This is my favorite park (so far) in San Antonio. They do not allow dogs, which I admit irked me at first but walking down the trails I understand why. The gorgeous views and the untarnished natural scenery wouldn't be as great with doggie bags hanging from trees, etc. It has the best view hands down once you get up to a certain height. Gorgeous Green hills, red maples, cedars and has that authentic hiking feel.

  Good 1.5 - 2 hr outer loop with plenty of other trails. Some easy trails, some trails with steep sections and some with technical rocky bits. Parking evaporates at popular times/days. Toilets and water available. Heads-up, no pets allowed.

  Great hiking trails that are nice and shaded for the most part. Parking can be a bit tough after 9am and dogs aren't allowed. This is my favorite place to hike and had a little something for everyone. You can do a nice wooded paved stroll to rocky hill climbs.

  What a wonderful oasis of hill country beauty so close to urban insanity. There are some "technical" trails for those who wish to push the boundaries of a typical urban park hike. We even saw the fabled golden-cheeked warbler, alerted to its presence by its persistent calls.
