Loved it! Great restoration and preservation of it's history. I also seen people doing yoga in the court yard. The grass could have been mowed as it was a bit tall. Instead of a foundation of a work shop...i would have rather seen a rendition of what the natives lived in outside the walls.
An amazing walk through & experience for a no cost history lesson. Accessible for children & handicapped alike. The terrain is rough for a wheel chair but doable. The scenery is picturesque. Many birds, flowers & wildlife. This was such a gem. The statues were intriguing and had a mysterious allure. Definitely a must see!
If you plan on visiting the area the missions are a must see. We both truly enjoyed the beautiful landscape and the history lesson we received from the amazing volunteers. These are still free and very well kept/maintained so make sure you donate! If you found this review helpful please give us a thumbs up and follow us around the US reviewing different locations. Thank you!
The missions national parks were fantastic. Visited with my 13 and 7 year old. Both earned their junior ranger badges. Jr ranger activity book was well done and bridges both age groups.
Took the bus from downtown San Antonio. Found travel convenient and easy to navigate. Would recommend as the best way to get between the missions.
Wonderful park, visit 5 missions 4 of which are still active. Learn Spanish, Mexican, Indian, and Texas history along the Mission Trail. We travelled to the first three by the excellent Viva Bus which costs $2.75 for unlimited rides on Bus #40 to get to these sites. Beautiful sites, worth the visit. It's really not a place for young children. It's a great places for those who have a love of history. Other than the bus ride it's completely free. The church and Mission is active.
