Even though this is a small museum, there is history here and the lady who is running the show today is very inviting, engaging and very knowledgeable. Will come back when we have the time. This was just a random pit stop on the way back to Houston.
Really cool place staff is awsome very engaging and informative I recommend checking it out
A good quick stop to learn some Texas history. Wife and I only spent about 15 minutes there and didn't check out the visitor center. It was a good time though. The grounds were peaceful and the statue is pretty good sized! There was a cute bird nesting I the gravel very close to where people drive/walk...hopefully her chicks survive! There were 3-4 little eggs until her tail and she fluffed up a bit when I absentmindedly wandered to close. Anyway, fun monument to visit!
Don't expect to stay for more than 5 minutes to look at all the detail, but it is pretty cool and neat. There's apparently a building in the back but staffing I'd limited (and when locked no bathrooms). Pretty cool be of Texas history
