Black Walnut Cafe

We went there for Saturday brunch. It was our first time there. As we walked in, there were paper menus at the door. We didn't realize we needed to order at the register first. Once we ordered, they gave us a pager and sent us off to get our coffee and water. There were tables inside and outside. We chose outside. Our wait for food wasn't too long thankfully. We weren't sure if We picked up the food (because of the pager), but we're pleased that a waiter attended us. We ordered chicken & waffles and challah French toast with sausage patties. The food was tasty and fresh. The manager passed by to greet us. Overall, we had a pleasant time.

The chocolate croissant was amazing. The rest of the food was good, but expensive. For us with kids, it took a little long for the food to come out. I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was seasoned really well, so that was a tasty dish. They don't know how to cook eggs to order, apparently. We both ordered over medium, but they were well undercooked. We ate on the large, shaded patio.

So, this place is a little different because you order at the counter then they bring it out to your table. I'm not a fan of standing in line to order at a sit down restaurant. That said, their brunch is excellent! Haven't had a bad meal yet. Chicken and waffles or build your own omelet are my go to choices. Grab a mimosa flight and enjoy!
