Carrollton Springs Changes

For a year my child struggled with depression and anxiety - interfering with their day to day routine and relationships. We tried multiple therapists and counselors without any progress.
After a week at Changes, we noticed a significant change in our child and by the end of their treatment they were able to go back to school and reconnect with friends.

I will never forget the morning I had to call my husband from a hotel room and ask him to check and make sure our teenage son was still alive. It was the longest ten seconds of my life, waiting for him to run across the house to his room. The forwarded text messages I had received in the middle of the night from the mother of one of his friends confirmed what his counselor had recently suggested—he needed intensive outpatient therapy for his depression and anxiety, preferably in a group setting. She told us if her own children needed intensive treatment, she would choose Carrollton Springs Changes.

Every single moment of this experience was empathetic and reassuring, from my first interactions with the staff via the live chat when setting up an evaluation, to picking up my son from his final session of outpatient therapy. The health and well-being of my family mattered, and that made a huge difference during a time when I felt like I could barely hold it together.

We began to see positive changes in my son immediately. He actually talked to us on the way home from group. He finally started sleeping at night. His physical health improved. He started playing his guitar and ukulele again. His smile returned. He told me so many times, during our rides home, that he never realized how many people all around you are dealing with the same things you are and just don’t have the space or ability to say it. And on the last night of group, as we drove away, he cried because he said he hadn’t felt this much like himself in years.

That was six months ago, and he continues to thrive. Saying thank you to Jason and the staff at Carrollton Springs Changes just isn’t enough. They not only saved my child’s life—they restored his spirit.

Met with Annette Today and the Changes Staff! It is wonderful to see people working with kids that have such loving passion. The facility does a great job of balancing safety, independence, and support! I felt welcomed by all the staff and even TED the team mascot. They have truly thought out of the box and strive daily to meet the ever changing needs of kiddos and their families. Annette was a Joy and such a key part of the team!
