  Superb school. I was worried about my 7 year old , non-Chinese son, coming and feeling he could learn and enjoy Chinese language. The teaching here is superb, and Principal Linda (who also teaches) is expert at engaging the kids of all ages, from what I can see. For my kid in particular, he has responded well to her mix of learning, singing, and class activities. He is well on his way to learning Chinese now. We delayed 2 years, looking at too many schools in Dallas, before finally taking the leap. I wish we had done so sooner!

  I sent my son to DMA Allen in his 31 months. At first he was very shy and hardly communicated with strangers. I’m so glad that after 2 months he has made a big progress. He becomes outgoing and masters more words in English and Chinese. These all benefited from professional teachers, they are really nice and patient.
  And I like their Chinese class. Ms Christy teaches Chinese classic poems by singing songs, which help them remember easily. The education of Chinese traditional culture is literally important to our Chinese future generations especially in US. That could make them remember where they are from and where their root is.
  The festival events or recitals they hold has a lot of fun and my son really enjoys it. And some performance also improved his courage in the stage.
  I always ask my son “ Are you happy?” when he is back home, and I have a positive answer every time. So I trust he has a good time at school. We all like this daycare.

  I love Discovery Montessori Academy in Allen, and the most important thing i like is providing three language lessons: English, Chinese, and Spanish for kids. We have had an amazing experience so far with my 5 year old and 8 years old kids. The teacher to student ratio is OK. The teachers are always professional, eager to help and very patient as well. The facility is nice clean bright up-to-date. They also provide transportation for my 8 years old son (afternoon school program) at nearby elementary schools. Highly recommended.

  Our 4.5 year old son has enrolled in this school for over 2 years now and he loves it. We do not speak Mandarin, Chinese at home, but he was able to pick it up fluently thanks to all the wonderful teachers! Recently, he was also fully potty trained with the help of Ms. Jessica (before he would have accidents occasionally, but now, after Ms. Jessica reminded him to use the toilet, he hasn’t had any accidents in the past 4 weeks!) We also love the fact that this school is not just about grades. Yes, this school offers work time where kids will practice their reading and writing, but more importantly, this school also offers a performance where the entire class sings and dances to all the parents at the end of every semester. This greatly helps develop our son’s self-esteem and builds his confidence. Ever since he was 3 years old, he was not shy to perform in front of a large group, ask questions, or speak up his mind. He now enjoys enrolling in singing / poem contests where he performs alone on stage in front of a large crowd. We’ve checked multiple schools prior to enrolling him into Discovery Montessori, and this is something that other schools do not offer because all they concentrate is grades!!

  I’m a very protective stay-home mom. I have nerve left my son until I sent him to this school when he turned 3. I was very anxious at the beginning, since I never knew how he would be doing or how he would be treated although I did some reach about the school and got much positive information from my friends whose kids go in this school for years.
  
  Now my son has already been in the school for six month He likes his school and the teachers. He told me: “I like Ms Heather, Ms Esther, Ms Chirsty and Ms Jessica!” Because they provide Chinese and Spanish classes, he gets chance to know more teaches. I can tell that he trusts his teaches and is being loved.
  
  To prepare him a loving and supporting atmosphere is my goal. I don’t care the other aspects too much for his age. More than I expected, the school provides excellent curriculum. The teachers care the kids and know how to teach. My son learns a lot in school.
  
  I’m very glad I chose Discovery Montessori Academy. It’s good for my kid.
