  Very nice park and not a lot of people but you can smell some sewage if you were downwind

  Look, Dallas is not known for its forests, but this is a really nice and well maintained paved trail. It's the closest thing I've found in the Irving area to a paved and shaded jogging trail with some visual interest (water, trees, etc.). The trees have no leaves for a good part o the year because...you know, Texas. I've jogged this alone and with my 6 yo on his bike, and I enjoy it. It's wide, smooth, relatively flat, and feels very safe. The mile markers are nice and there are a couple route options. There are benches every quarter mike or so. Recently I've seen rental bikes at the two major entrances.

  I visited this Elm Fork Nature Preserve for one reason to release a turtle that was found on the road. The paths are clear and it is easy to get around. After talking to Carrollton Animal Services they had recommended that I go to this area to release his Turtle Back Into the Wild. I found a great spot to release the turtle near a pond and away from traffic. I look forward to coming back to this park to see if my turtle has survived.

  We had a great time with our two kids 5 and 2. The trail was pretty much flat and could be done with a stroller, if it has big wheels. It was an easy loop and would be great for trail runs.

First Im glad that Dallas County invests time and money into a nature trail. Id love to see more of these. The trail was clean and easily accessible. Charles Sullivan. Small well-maintained "nature" preserve. Walking trails of about 3/4 mile.
