Every dollar our family earns come to us by the grace of God. The economic reality we face here in the US sure doesn't come from anything Godly. We've learned well to avoid impulse purchasing. So "branding" is no longer relevant to us but a fair, affordable expense allotment for each and every necessity is. Family comes first, personal pulses last.
Family Dollar is appropriately named. They treat customers like family because they belong to the local community of working families. They actually care and I have witnessed this compassion as an outside observer. They treated a money-poor customer (that I was helping out with a ride) in a kind way I have rarely ever seen. I don't go to Family Dollar all that often, so I have nothing to compare it to. This store, though, is usually pretty clean and well-organized.
