I found Tulsi Desai on my community Facebook group promoting her business. I have never heard of a pelvic floor therapist, so I did research. I also viewed her page and watched the videos she posted. I thought she was very dedicated to her work and it intrigued me. When a therapist truly cares about their patients then the results are amazing. I have a weak pelvic floor after the birth of my two little boys. I have a mommy pooch that won’t go away no matter the amount of excercise and diet I do. I have back pain that never seems to ease. I finally reached out to Tulsi and got her voice mail, I didn’t leave a message so she called me. I was so thankful that she called me and she spoke to me for about an hour. She listened to my issues and offered a free evaluation. I went to see her and she was very nice and made me feel comfortable. I appreciate her honesty, her thoroughness and her standards. I had a shoulder injury that she referred me to a sports massage therapist to fix for a cheaper price. (I am relieved of my pain and feeling much better and my wallet remained fat!) as for Tulsi, I signed up for 10 sessions. I have already had 5 and we have made awesome progress. I feel like my pelvic floor is getting stronger and my ribs and diaphragm and digestive system all moves freely and much better. So much less pressure. It’s amazing what bearing a child can do to our bodies. I highly recommend Tulsi Desai she is such an awesome person and completely obsessed with healing her patients. I appreciate your hard work and dedication thank you Tulsi ???????? can’t wait to see my body after the rest of my sessions.

I had severe lower back pain, which was causing me to not be able to stand up straight or walk. Sitting in a chair and in the car were also very painful, with pain radiating throughout my hips and low back. I was unable to pick up my almost 1 year old or carry him without debilitating pain. I was physically unable to put him in his crib to sleep or lift him out. I tried lying on ice packs and heating pads, which helped some. I tried stretching gently, which also helped some. However, I had no mobility and no strength, so I felt stuck. I couldn’t avoid picking up my son, so I felt like I could never rest enough to recover. I tried going to the chiropractor, which would help temporarily, but the next day I was in pain again. I didn’t really know what to do to help my back heal. I felt like I was stuck. I waited several months. I thought the back pain would go away, and I would get better in a few days/weeks like I had before. I spent several months in pain off and on (kept re-injuring my back). Finally I decided I needed help beyond just trying to apply ice/heat/and rest.

The obstacle was definitely the cost which is why I waited for a long time before considering physical therapy. Not wanting to commit to spending the money when I thought I would get better over time. Also, taking the time from my busy schedule and taking off work, knowing that it would be multiple appointments.

The thing I enjoyed most during my treatment at Active Body Active Life was getting my mobility back and relieving the pain so that I could function! Being able to heal properly and heal faster was my number one priority when I decided to consult with Tulsi Desai. My main short term goal was to get relief from the pain so that I could function normally. My long term goal was to help my body heal the right way so that I could get stronger (back to my pre-baby body strength if not better). I achieved the 1st goal within a few sessions and I'm on my way to the 2nd goal, getting stronger every day!

I now advise my friends and family that you will most likely not get better on your own if you truly have an issue. You need professional help from a physical therapist. You need to see someone who has expertise in treating back pain and pelvic problems specifically. Tulsi has so much knowledge in this area and I know she can help you get better quickly! PT can really help your body heal the right way! If you don't seek professional help, you may keep re-injuring yourself. Your body deserves to be taken care of, especially if you are a mom. You need to take care of your body so you can be there for your family.

I had lower back pain and weakness after my second child was born (severe pubic joint pain during second half of pregnancy causing me to become fairly immobile). It got worse the more I tried to exercise and get active again. I had been suffering from significant pain for about a year. I thought the pain I was having was normal pregnancy/postpartum aches and pains that would get better over time. I also felt guilty spending so much money on myself instead of continuing to “power through”. I started avoiding any movement that caused pain during and after pregnancy.

One day when I was laying my 6 months old down in his crib, I felt an extremely sharp shooting pain in my lower back and couldn’t move after. It was the worst pain of my life for about 3 days before I could start getting out of bed again. I wasn’t able to care for myself or my 2 kids. I was doing group exercise classes postpartum before my injury that I had to stop due to severe pain every time I tried to exercise. I started chiropractic care for about 6 weeks and didn’t see much improvement. My joints were loose and weak. The more I stretched and got chiropractic adjustments the more my muscles were spasming. That’s when I decided to see a physical therapist. Tulsi Desai at Active Body Active Life came highly recommended from a few reliable sources.

Tulsi listened, and taught me to listen to my own body, and made adjustments in treatment when needed. She understands that I struggle with mental health as well and that is part of treating my physical pain successfully. She understands what it is like to be a parent trying to do the home workouts. With her treatment, I was able to achieve my goal to be able to care for my 2 small children as a stay at home mom and be able to enjoy activities we love doing without any pain. I am now able to safely participate in exercise groups that I enjoy. This is still a work in progress, but Tulsi has been straight forward with setting expectations for the amount of sessions and timeline to see this type of improvement. She has made herself available to me via text/call anytime I need guidance while I gradually work myself back into more challenging exercises.

If anyone ignores pain and health for a long time, it only gets worse. The more you ignore the pain, the more flair ups you will cause, the more your muscles with atrophy, the more your brain and body will grow accustomed and the harder it will be to change. Tulsi understands not only the physical aspect of the pain, but the mental hang-ups as well. So you’ll be treated as an entire human, not just a broken back. She has given me so many tips and tricks I can use to avoid future flare ups and gave me knowledge to use correct posture. It doesn’t hurt to try her treatment. Doing nothing and ignoring your pain definitely won’t make it better but physical therapy could.

I saw Tulsi at Active Body Active Life for my knee pain.I had a traumatic event and injured my knee around five years ago. Due to that injury my walking, running and other daily activities were altered causing extra pressure on the injured knee. I kept using a knee brace, massages and ice pack for temporary pain relief. I had been suffering from significant knee pain for nearly 6 to 7 months before my wife insisted that I consult Tulsi about it. I had visited another physical therapist in the past for the same problem but it did not work out and I continued to deal with the pain with no real solution or action plan. The previous physical therapist was not helpful or informative. With the lack of knowledge and true understanding of my problem I thought I can deal with it on my own until I realized it was a rather serious problem. It got to the point that I could not walk up the stairs due to severe pain and stiffness and I knew at that moment that it was finally time to get help. When I consulted Tulsi, I had played a couple of hours of basketball the day before and wasn’t able to walk without a limp. Going upstairs was a daunting task. Tulsi listened to me & gave me proper knowledge and understanding of my initial injury and it’s impact on my current limitations. I thought physical therapy was just stretching and exercises but after getting proper information during my rehab at Active Body Active Life, I realized that injuries are a lot more complex in nature than just a strength or flexibility issue. The amount of information and knowledge she shared with me over the course of my treatment along with the helpful hints and suggestions for helpful products have been tremendously helpful. She’s very flexible with her schedule and more than accommodating with all the questions I have had. she’s very well organized with home exercise videos to watch at home.

I would recommend my family and friends to consult Tulsi if anyone has a serious injury. I would advise everyone not to wait a day longer when you are dealing with an injury or chronic pain that is impacting your quality of life. Give yourself proper time and care to improve your health. I have realized that it’s very important to find a good physical therapist who can be a strong support system that helps in the recovery process. My goal was to improve my health so that I can get back to my active lifestyle and play with my kids which I enjoyed and missed by not getting expert help on time. I regret not coming to see her early enough. I’m very satisfied with the progress I’ve made.

I had been suffering from bladder and pelvic problems since I delivered my child 3 years ago. I did not realize the extent to how serious pelvic floor problems can be and did not know that it could get worse if left untreated for a long time. I ignored my problems for a while and didn’t take them seriously even though they were pretty bad and I was suffering everyday. I kept doing the good old kegel exercises which helped a bit initially but not for long. I knew a little bit about physical therapy as my husband is a PT but I was not sure about what pelvic floor physical therapy treatment included. I was very skeptical about it until I met Tulsi. I attended her workshop on women’s health and was very impressed with her knowledge on the topic and her passion. I waited 6 months and pretty much ignored my health. Attending the workshop really helped me make the decision to regain full control of my health. I really wanted to have normal feeling of my bladder and pelvic area as it used to be before having a child. Tulsi’s treatment really helped me, she gave me her best care to heal. Now it’s my responsibility to continue my exercises to stay fit. The thing I most liked about Tulsi during my treatment was her professionalism, the fact that she spent time to listen to my concerns and worries, and of course her passion in helping women going through pelvic and postpartum problems. I would suggest all my friends and family to consult pelvic floor PT if they are in similar situation. If anyone is in the DFW area then I would 100% recommend them to go to Tulsi Desai at Active Body Active Life. Too bad I moved out of the country and can’t see her in person anymore. Tulsi Desai has the right knowledge and solution to pelvic floor problems. Most of all, Her passion is infectious. You can’t resist but feel motivated to take care of yourself after you meet her.
