The Wild Detectives

Love this place! But first, to be clear, this is nominally a bookstore (at least according to Google), and more of a bar with literary interests. The music they play is usually fun and they've got a great outdoor space with a couple of spaces on the porch and benches in their backyard. The drinks are good and the bar staff know what they're doing. The atmosphere is good for both socializing (outside) and working (inside). So happy that a place like this exists in the Dallas area.

I absolutely adore this place! Wild Detectives has a great selection of books, booze, and coffee drinks. Also, they have great events such as Shakespeare in the Bar and guest authors and speakers who talk about a wide range of topics. In addition, their outdoor patio is perfect for summer nights. The only downside is trying to find a parking spot.

Small but well selected draft offerings. Same can be said about the books. Obvious thought has gone into curation. Nice little outdoor space outback. Very neighbor’s-backyard feel. Super friendly staff. Cozy as hell.

Great little bookshop with a surprisingly good selection. I like to come here to browse for gifts for people. Also they have an excellent little coffee shop that is on par with most local coffee spots. An excellent experience!

Hands down my favorite bar/coffee place in DFW!!

The Wild Detectives is a coffee place, it is a bar, it is a bookstore, it is a records store, it is a place to casually hang out with a little reading corner, it is absolutely amazing! There is an outdoor seating both in the front as well as a decent size backyard.

It has a very warm and rustic feel. The drinks (coffee, cocktails, wine, etc.) are all excellent and the service is friendly as well. Very unique place to hang out.

Don't miss a visit to this place!! This is absolutely a must if you're in the area!
