The State Fair is awesome!! Now this is truly a great place for the entire family. It's all kinds of things to get into at The State Fair. All types of games, rides and all kinds of great food.
This is how it feels to be Texan in about 3 square miles
I love Texas
Really fun state fair. Parking is a nightmare, so be sure to go early and get a spot if you're going on a busy day. It's PACKED on the weekends. Honestly, I'd even just Uber/Lyft there if possible. Big Tex is a staple there. Huge Ferris wheel. There's a ride you can go on that takes you above the entire fair, and you get an aerial view of the city and the Cotton Bowl. TONS of crazy food and neat attractions. There's always events and music going on, plus a really cool car show. Everything is pretty expensive (as most fairs are), but you can find good deals and coupons online beforehand.
My only concern was the exotic animals at the petting zoo. Farm animals make sense, but you can tell the giraffes and kangaroos and the other bigger, more exotic animals should not be there and are stressed out by all the people and commotion. I don't like it at all for them.
Otherwise, everything is great. I'd definitely recommend taking your kids and going at least once to check it out.
The food here is great. We also tried the different attraction rides. I went here with my friends and it brought a lot of childhood memories. We will definitely visit again.
Very expensive and the food isn't really good at all. Never sure what all the hype is about these food places at the fair. None have ever impressed me. That being said it's Texas and if the weather is nice this is a good way to get out and walk around a bunch. Some of the exhibits are interesting and I do like the Texas Discovery Gardens.
