Dr. John C. McElroy MD - Orthopedic Spine Surgeon

First, the Cliff's notes version:
I had a severely herniated disc at L5-S1 which prevented me from standing up straight and produced a high amount of pain which radiated into my left leg and foot. Dr. McElroy performed a microdiscectomy and I immediately was back to my old self. Dr. McElroy and the staff at Orthopedic Associates are top notch and, if your situation is anything like mine, they will help you get better!

Dr. McElroy gave me a hope of moving without any numbness in my legs and feet... that is exactly what happened after a successful back surgery. The same evening of surgery I was able, with the use of a walker, to travel over 600 feet without any numbness or pain in my legs or feet. That, to me, is a major success! Also, the help and support I have received from Dr. McElroy’s assistants, Beth and Donna, before and after surgery is absolutely remarkable.

This is a very efficient operation. Their scheduling is top notch. They don't leave you in the waiting area and they don't leave you sitting in the exam room endlessly. The staff is accurate and courteous. I would recommend this practice if you are in need of orthopedic care.

I was referred to Dr McElroy for my neck pain due to a car accident in 2017. Gave him the MRI from the hospital and he tried different steps to keep from me having surgery. No luck, the steroid shot actually made my pain quadruple. After consulting with him we decided to do the surgery. He has been an amazing Doctor. He explains everything to you in great detail. I do not have the pain I was having anymore, just a process of healing and being a brand new me! Everyone there is AWESOME!
