My wife and I stopped by for lunch and ordered a large Eastern Market, knowing we would take back some leftovers. Maybe because it was on Good Friday, the restaurant wasn't very busy.
The pizza was perfectly cooked, with outer edges nicely browned and the inner crust chewy and fluffy. The combination of the toppings worked well, especially if you like veggies. The sauce was not too acidic and had a nice subtle flavor.
Based on some of the pictures we had seen from other reviews and having eaten Detroit style pizzas in other cities, we were expecting the pizza to be somewhat greasy and overly salty. It was neither, which was very much welcome for us.
The service was no frills but was fine overall. They played Motown faves the entire time and there were various Detroit sports pics and banners on the wall. We will definitely go back to try other items on the menu.
The best pizza place I've ever been to. Detroit style pizza is never on my mind when I grab a bite to eat but the Dallas Morning News wrote about this place and it was close by so I tried it. Very flavorful pizza that's hard for this Texan to describe but it tastes like it was made with real ingredients by an actual person. The crust has a satisfying crispness to it. The sauce wasn't too strong and complimented every topping with subtlety. I can't go back to Little Caesars after this.
The pic below is $60 worth of food excluding the tip.
Best pizza in town! If you like thick crust, pan crust pizza, you will love this place. It is Detroit style pizza and it was my very first time eating Detroit style pizza. Loved it. My son and I had Motown Supreme which has peperoni, Italian sausages, onions, green peppers, mushroom. Just SO good.
According to the waiter, there is a long line on weekends. We went on a weekday after a lunch hour rush but it was still full when we got there. It takes a while for the pizza to come out because it is not a thin Italian pizza, this is pretty thick heavy stuff. We will definitely go back for some more.
This is the BEST pizza I’ve had yet in Dallas! The perfect Detroit Style Pizza. Edge to edge cheese, crispy corners, sauce has a little spice to it, pepperonis are excellent.
So happy I found this place. I want to try the round pizza as well, but the square is so good I don’t know if I could go without it!
It’s on the expensive side as pizza goes, but 100% worth every penny.
Enjoyed my cheat meal at Motor City Pizza! I had been keeping my eye on this for a while and it was worth the wait! First time having Detroit Style pizza and I will be back.
One suggestion I make is if you are dining in, call ahead and place your order.
They have both traditional round pizza, and the thick crust Detroit pizza with the sauce and brick cheese on top. The traditional pizza was one of the best slices I've had in DFW. I can't compare the Detroit style to anything but its way better than other places deep-dish that I have tasted.
Definitely worth the drive!
