The park looks useful enough, but this place is memorable to me as the trailhead that starts a good journey to the old El Paso Tin Mines. It's about a 6-7 mile round trip trek to the abandoned mines. Lots of folks out even on a Monday hiking and biking the trails. I like the "gateway" art piece but it there's construction going on around it.
Didn't spend really any time in the main park area, I just used the park to access a bike trail my buddy found and the trails in that area for mountain biking are incredible. Difficult but beautiful and worth the effort. Just be careful, even as an expert rider, dips, rocks, drop-offs, and cacti can sneak up on you pretty quick.
This park is a great place for many activities. You can play at the playground provided, or there is a big grassy area- bring a football, a soccer ball or Frisbee, etc. This also leads to a great hiking or mountain bike trail. Great for family fun or a place to enjoy a quiet outdoor adventure.
Great place to walk. Peaceful and beautiful. I need to go back there more.
