I'm not going to give away the secret, just go. Don't bother paying for + waiting for the huge telescopes unless you really really *really* want to for your own awesome nerd reasons.
    Ask smart people stupid questions!!!

Really awesome place. We will definitely be back! There's so much to see and so little time. Kids couldn't really handle the extremely long lines. I really think the lines could be improved with a little thought and a numerical group system. Rather than having people stand in a line for an hour at each telescope, they could assign a number for groups when people purchase tickets... For example telescope A, B or C and whatever number that group is, could be communicated digitally with a simple POS system, possibly. They could post the groups in whatever order on a red light screen and people could mingle with the smaller telescope enthusiasts, learn some things and hang out until it's their turn, rather than stand in live for an hour... And if someone doesn't show up at the right time, their number could just roll back, letting others go ahead.

Good place for people who love to gaze at stars. The amateur astronomers who bring their telescopes and are happy to let others use them are a great part of the adventure.

If you wish to learn about astronomy and have a good time alone or with your family, this is the right place to go, people of the observatory is very nice, knowledgeable and helpful. They allow you to ask questions and observe the sky. Great place to visit for.

The George Observatory is a ton of fun! It's always an amazing learning experience to speak with local astronomers who will teach you about our sky and answer questions. They have three different telescope domes and volunteers out on the deck with their personal telescopes showing off deep sky objects. They also have an awesome speaker inside to teach on different subject matter every week. I saw the summer Milky Way here for the first time after they reopened from the flooding a couple years ago. Ever since then I've been completely hooked! This place is magical to me. Highly recommended!
