Texas House Check - Home Inspection

I’m giving a 5 star rating, and I haven’t received the report yet.

These guys are a family business, and they seem to know their stuff. Easy to work with, explained everything throughly before, during, and after. Pricing was competitive. We will have a same day report.

Our builder with Trendmaker has worked with them before, and he said they do a good job. They definitely found things I wouldn’t have, and they were familiar with issues specific to my builder.

I appreciated their use of technology. They used a thermal imaging camera to detect any hot wires, missed insulation, and check HVAC. Although not 100% necessary, they used a drone to check the roof. The photos were good quality and showed issues just as well as walking on the roof and taking pics. And the price was the same.

Definitely recommend. I’ll update after the report.

UPDATE: After reading the 2 emotional and possibly exaggerated 1 star reviews, I just wanted to confirm that I am a legit reviewer (Google Local Guide) and there was never a request from Texas House Check for me to complete any type of review. Based on the accusations the 1 star reviewers made, I will provide a detailed update once my report is complete later today.

UPDATE: I got the report. Looks solid. They caught several items I would have overlooked in the interior and exterior. This is for a new build home, so it’s not quite as complicated as some when it comes to checking for existing mold, but they found several items that need to be fixed to prevent future mold. Good work and speedy report. I stick by the 5 star rating for my experience.

I found that they did an excellent job on our inspection. This is by far our largest house, with the most mechanical equipment we've ever owned. A key for me was the use of high tech inspection tools, such as a drone.
One finding resulted in a new furnace from the seller. In fact, they also found a few structural items that we are attempting to work with the original builder, under their warranty, to fix. We've so far found nothing that they've missed or didn't make note. THC was a reference from a co-worker that had just had an inspection on a brand new house and were obviously satisfied too. Another big plus is that they came out a 2nd time to meet with me to go over the report. Both Anthony and Robert spent a combined 2 hrs of additional time and gave me many good pointers. Thanks THC!

I had a great experience with Texas House Check. I spoke with Robert on the phone who was helpful in describing their services. I needed an inspection on an older home known to have galvanized piping as well as some foundation work. I was looking for FLIR technology and Robert informed me that this comes standard on all of their inspections which was a huge plus for me. I scheduled the inspection online which was hassle free. When I showed up for the inspection, I met Andrew and Greg who informed me that Robert was on the way and would be looking at the foundation and electrical. With 3 inspectors the whole process only took about 2hrs. I was able to ask questions during the inspection and all three inspectors were very helpful in explaining what they saw (or didn't see). They generated an exhaustive list of deficiencies they found with helpful photos and descriptions of each in their report. They were unable to provide cost estimates for repairs but referred me to someone who could. Overall I was extremely pleased with the experience and would highly recommend these guys. What's even better, they're a family business with very reasonable rates!!

From the first phone call until we departed from the inspection Robert and his sons were phenomenal. They are extremely thorough, with their imaging and knowledge. We are first time home buyers and they gave us the security to know we are making a good decision. They have technology that gives you piece of mind and they will explain everything to you, not only when they review your house, but while they are walking it as well. Plus they are very pleasant and easy going. I will definitely recommend them to anyone buying a house!
