  I was sure i had updated my message below but it doesn't appear that way here - apologies!
  
  I did in fact receive my refund on day 29 after I returned them, followed soon afterwards by an apology email from Dr. Snook.
  Apparently the initial return procedure described to me was correct, and that refunds are usually well within the 30 days, but the in-between information given to me over the phone was not correct.
  Dr. Snook ( a very nice and patient lady who worked hard to get right settings on the aids) promised me she would meet with her staff and explain the procedures.
  I have therefore raised her rating.
  
  YOU'D BETTER KEEP THEM IF YOU BUY THEM !!!!
  Dr Snook tried hard to find a good setting for my first time hearing aids but I had to return them, WELL within the return limit.
  THAT WAS 4 WEEKS AGO AND DESPITE MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS(with no reply) I HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY $5000 REFUND.
  Today I finally received a call from a receptionist, saying that their accountant visits every 2 weeks and then has 30 days to review the contract etc. before signing the check!
  I asked why the accountant didn't start the review the last time they came. All she said was that she does not know-maybe the Dr would know.
  So this means that the company has BOTH the hearing aids AND my $5000 for 2 months (assuming of course I do in fact get the money back a month from now.)
  Legal or not I don't know, but for sure I will not be visiting this business again..
