  Great park for camping & fishing. Camping sites don't have shades though, almost no trees. So be prepared for plenty of sunshine, if there are no thunderstorms or clouds.

  Went to Galveston State Park for Turtle Patrol and it was a lot of fun. The Park Ranger went over all kinds of information about Ridley Sea Turtles and we walked the beach looking for turtles, tracks and picking up trash so the turtles would not eat or get caught in anything. The turtles lay there eggs here.

  Great facilities. Bathrooms we're gorgeous and excellent showers. Sites are spacious and come with picnic table, grill/fire pit and shade structure. Be careful of the Grackles (black birds) they come out when you have food and are very bold. Also pretty noisy with their calls in the morning. Amazing place though, had a great time.

  I was impressed with this camp site. I wasn't there long but it was clean and well taken care of. The bathrooms are very nice and have showers. There are 8 sites that circle the bathrooms (at least where we were). There was also a large dumpster for us to use. It was really really windy one day and calm the next. I would go back.

  Very Affordable so Five stars for that. But 1 Star for all of the Parks Maintenance and Lay out... even the web site is Hard to navigate. As far as the Parks..."Buried in Mosquitoes" you can't be outside right before dark or early morning. Something else it is odd there are no lights in the parks. And the state of Texas Marquee for the state park entrance to the Bay sides there's no names or lights on... Now if you're from out of town you have no idea what it is. You have to be very observant to what little signs they do have. I'm proud to say we are from East Texas and our little of Tyler state park is a beautiful place and well kept and groomed. And almost all the other state parks we have visited are lighted Gates Entrance. I can't understand why they do not have it lit up with lights they have electricity. Some one in upper management not doing a very good Job@

I get the state park pass every year and when we head to the beach in Galveston it is to the GISP. On this trip the water was very nice and you could almost see your feet as you Thirteen of us headed to the State Park to enjoy kayaking, biking, hiking, fishing, and the beach.
