Great service
This is a wonderful congregation to work for. I am the lead minister at the congregation and love the work. The congregation focuses on giving back to the community through a food pantry, clothing give-away, free fall festival for the community (block party style), habitat for humanity, highway clean up, partnering with children's homes, police chaplaincy, Baytown's jailbreak run, Houston homeless ministry (Houston Impact), mission trips, and much more! We have a great young families ministry, youth group, and children's program.
During worship, we have a program for children ages 3 yo - 5th grade for those who would like to attend. It is a time filled with singing, crafts and Bible lessons. We understand that a previous visitor had her child color on herself. We are very sorry to hear this and embarrassed as we take every effort to keep this from happening and do not keep permanent markers near children. Concerning the incident, all Lakewood participating adults have been spoken with, and although nobody recalls children or adults poking fun at the visitors child, we have reminded them to diligently watch the children and provide a safe and accepting environment for learning. If there is an issue, we sincerely invite you to speak with myself or one of our other leaders so it can be addressed immediately.
