  The best part about this place is by far the service! The food here is also great with unlimited biscuit baskets and a nice drink, you'll really get that authentic country feel. One of the best things on the menu I would say is the Maple Jam Burger. It will fill your mouth with the sweet and salty taste of the Maple Jam and the unusually sweet taste of the pickles. The cheese is also a +. The little store they have is full of neat knick knacks and nice little gift ideas. I remember one time I walked in I have found frosted flakes flavored lip balm. The candies are a bit pricey but it's great if you're taking a short road trip, or a long one :-).

  So yummy! As a visitor from California, I'm not used to grits yet, but the rest was better than I remembered from visiting my first Cracker Barrel when I was a kid. I can't wait until I go back to Tennessee so I can have CB again. My family has been forewarned that we're going there. I had a modified double meat breakfast (low-fat style, if there's such a thing) with a side of fried apples and a bite of my friend's loaded hash brown casserole. It was the perfect end to my first trip to Houston. This place isn't about big portions, but there are a lot of components to each meal. Plenty of nicely cooked comfort food for this picky eater with a big tummy.

  Service was excellent! Country fried steak, fried shrimp, chicken and dumplings, kids burger with fries, mac and cheese, loaded hashbrown casserole, steamed broccoli, garden salad, fried apples and regular apples and rolls were all good. This family of four ate well.

  Eggs over medium-well were a little undercooked, but the grub was pretty good overall. A little less busy than normal at 9 a.m. on a Sunday. Waitress was friendly and efficient. Checkout girl, however, was more interested in having fun with a coworker than paying much attention to me.
