  UPDATE: This was originally a two-star review that I have updated to 4 because of their prompt response and customer service in comping me one of the days for each of the vans I rented.
  
  One of the worst rental car experiences I've ever had. They called to let me know the day before my pickup that they were having difficulties finding vans for a reservation I had confirmed over 2 months in advance. I thought when I had to follow up with them late that night to make sure everything had been worked out that I could believe them when they told me that they had the vans ready on the lot for me.
  
  But instead, when I got there the morning, they had one van that still needed to be washed, one van they had lost a key for, and another van with mechanical problems. We ended up waiting 45 minutes for the first van to be washed and another 45 minutes for them to clean out a van that had been turned back in. Who knows how long it would have taken if we had had to wait on a locksmith for the van they couldn't find a key for.
  
  And to top that all off, the best they offered me was to waive the gas fee on the return and give me $25 off my rental. Call that the only reason I can reasonably give them a second star. It's one thing for me to know there was a mix-up early on. It's an entirely different thing for them to mislead me into thinking my rental was actually sitting there waiting for me when it wasn't. I will never use this company again.

  This location is off-airport but literally a four minute shuttle ride to their facility. Despite the other reviews I have read, the staff were very friendly and got me in the car and on my way in a matter of five minutes...and with a bottle of water to boot. The car was clean and waiting at the front door after I checked in. The return process was seamless but a little crazy as they direct you to lines of other cars recently returned. This location clearly rents a LOT of cars! The shuttle stop to return to the airport is nearby and the shuttles constantly run. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely rent from Alamo at Hobby again in the future.

  Another flawless rental experience from Alamo (at Houston Hobby.) Had a very nice Hyundai Tuscon for 2.5 weeks and had ZERO issues with the car, the check-in or the check-out. Car smelled fresh and clean (cigarette smoke has been a problem with other rental companies in the past) and everything on the vehicle worked like a charm! And Mary who did out check-out when leaving Hobby was extremely sweet and hospitable! We always use Alamo for our rental needs.

  Alamo is always my top choice when renting cars. The service is better. The selection is better. And the time "get in and get out" is a lot faster. (Plus, the bus drivers always put a smile on your face) I highly recommend the "online check-in". That way, once you hop off the bus, just go directly to your vehicle category in the parking lot and pick out your preferred car. With Jeep Wranglers, Dodge Challengers, BMW convertibles, new pick-ups, and an array of luxury models, Alamo provides far more than your "bland silver sedan" rental car.

  It was such a smooth and great transaction. Though I have to wait for 45minutes ( can understand the Thanksgiving rush) to get my car and as I was waiting I was offered with other cars as the one I have booked was not available. However they manage to give me much better and bigger car then what I have booked. On top of that paperwork is easy even on returning.
