  I went back and forth about therapy for a long time. After having the opportunity to work with Nina though, my only regret is that I didn't make the decision sooner. My life has certainly changed for the better, and I'm incredibly grateful for the experience.

  I've been seeing Nina for almost two years now. I found her on Psychology Today randomly while looking for a new therapist after a few years without one. I had previously seen a psychoanalyst for a numbers of years, but it ended poorly. As such, I was a little leery about getting back into therapy.
  
  I have had chronic depression since my teenage years but started experiencing debilitating anxiety in 2016. I had never taken medication before and only done CBT, but it felt like I needed help that CBT wasn't providing. I went to see a psychiatrist and told her about all the trauma in my life and she said that, more than likely, PTSD has rewired some things in my brain over time as studies have shown is possible.
  
  I've been on Lexapro now for the time, as well as working with Nina and I've made huge strides despite significant set backs like being fired from a job of 3.5 years due to COVID-19.
  
  I am writing again, submitting to poetry journals, feeling more embodied, and working through not only recent traumas, but working toward my original trauma that has held me hostage for decades.
  
  I highly recommend her to patients seeking help with trauma-based mental health concerns -- especially if they are on the creative spectrum at all. Though I tend to do a lot of talk therapy, there are so many tools in Nina's kit that she offers a really versatile and agile approach to therapy.

  It was a great experience to take part in therapy through play for the Embracing Myself in 2019 group session I attended with my family and boyfriend.
  We went through themes such as finances, health, spiritual, and emotional well being and were able to discuss these elements of our lives, where we are and want to be. I am a fan of goal setting and most everything that entails so I loved this!
  Going deeper into these subjects opened up conversation between all of us in attendance both during and after the workshop. Going deeper did bring out certain vulnerabilities which is a step towards embracing but I felt like I needed more steps towards embracing, almost like I needed another couple of sessions! The play and props were a blast and some of the movements led to some fun signature dance moves that will be around for a very long time.

  At first, I was a bit unsure about the thought of attending a therapeutic group workshop with others not knowing exactly what to expect, but the experience was not only enjoyable, it was deeply enlightening. Nina's animated personality touched all of us in the room which seemed to put us at ease quite quickly. She was able to create a relaxed atmosphere in which we felt comfortable enough to share our feelings in different areas of our lives. She guided us in a very simple form of role playing with one another which had us laughing and tearing up at times as we expressed our internal conflicts, as well as recognizing it in others. I left her workshop feeling happier than when I walked in. I had a sense of relief, a weight lifted off of my shoulders. I was able to reach within and express myself without fear of judgement. Thank you Nina for showing me that healing can come from play.
