  Updating review on October 24, 2019: Mary reached out to me and was more than happy to make me a satisfied customer. I returned to the shop and was treated nicely. I am happy with how concerned she was with making me feel satisfied. My hair looks good and I would definitely recommend them to close friends.

  The good: first time visiting. I visited az magic braids on 10/14/19. Overall, my experience was good. Mary was very attentive, “are you ok? Are you cold? Are you hot?” Mary tried her best to meet my request with “not tight” and honestly I’ve had tighter, on the “not tight” request, so that was good. I really only had one day of discomfort. The price for my box braids were a typical $180. I arrived at the shop right at 8:45a (she got started at about 9ish) and was literally walking out at 12:45p so it took Mary (and her assistant) really no time to get me out.
  
  The not so good: My braids are only 8 days old and they are starting to look really old. I believe this is due to the fact that I have some really big parts on my front right side (Which is where she started). There was hair that was not gathered into the braids as the front and my front left side. (Saying this as gently as possible, black American women know that African women get every strand of hair into a braid). I can’t style my braids a certain way because of the huge parts on the right. What I mean is, the braid itself is the same size as the others but the parts are huge and very noticeable. My front right, just near my ear, looks bad. I thought about going back for her to fix it but that shouldn’t be an inconvenience to me. Other than that, that’s the only thing I have to complain about.

  I have gotten my hair braided at Mary's yesterday, and let me just say that I am very satisfied.
  Not only did she finish on time, she was very attentive and it did not hurt at all!
  Eventhough I am used to getting my hair braided, it always hurts but Mary was very light handed.
  I will definitely be going back! ????

  I have been coming to Marie for about 6 months and I must say I am very pleased with her work. Her work is very neat and she is always available when I need her and I appreciate that. I will continue to use her for my braid needs. Very active with her customers nice and polite every time I come. Thank.you so much.

  Excellent braider. Marie is the most professional braided that I have experienced in the 20+ years of getting my hair braided. Consistent quality, and professionalism every single time. You will not be disappointed.

  Mary have done my Mom and I braids and twists for almost 20 years. She is the absolute best at what she does! We continue to be a loyal customers because she is always on time, down to earth, friendly, and always make sure you receive the style you wanted. Any style and color you want, Mary can do!
