  We love these gardens. They did a great job with the winter lights and it was magical for our girls. If you are traveling and want to do something unique and special, plus get some fresh air, I highly recommend.

  Christmas Village lights, even after Christmas, is worth viewing after the holidays when It's a cold night to experience the holiday mood. The grounds are well decorated, musical (sometimes live) plus a tent with a model train. Additional fee for home tour. ????????

  Fun little place to visit. We just went for the Christmas village and the kids liked it. Plenty to do. We've visited before too and there's lots of interesting things to read and look at.

  UPDATE 2018: The gift shop has moved back from the information center at the top of the hill and is now once again in the little gate house just past the bridge. They'll let you visit the shop without paying admission to the house and gardens, if you want.
  Absolutely love this place. The collections are wonderful and worth paying for, but they also have 'family days' a few times a year when you can go for free. We've been on July 4 when they had a fife and drum band and someone in costume reading the Declaration of Independence; on election weekend when they were running a colonial-style election; we've seen some of the 'hidden sides' of furniture, when they had drawers pulled out and certain items turned over to show labels and more, and we've been on special days like at Christmastime for the candlelight tours and on Mothers' Day, when it was free for mothers. Oh, and one excellent visit had every room done up for a different holiday - there was Easter, Christmas and Thanksgiving, but also celebrations like christenings, weddings, Valentine's Day, and more. EVERY visit is different and every one is enjoyable. And in recent years with the new gift shop it just gives me an excuse to stay longer!

  Beautiful place to visit,if you like gardens,art,antiques,and history.
  Very nice collections of paintings,silver,ceramics and furniture.
  Tour of the house throughout each room.
  There are beautiful gardens,with different types of flowers, camellias, magnolias and other trees.
  Helpful brochures give details about certain furniture and rooms in the house.
  There is helpful personnel throughout the house,in case you have some questions.
  The suspension bridge was fun to walk to get to the place.
