“I have been a patient of Dr. Arem’s for 12 years! He has followed me since my thyroid cancer diagnosis in 2010, subsequent surgery, and radiation treatment. Prior to the scary surgery and careful selection of the best surgeon for my case, he took the time to review my scans and provide a second opinion even when I was having my surgery at UCLA. He listens to my concerns, I never feel rushed or ignored and his attention is focused with great discovery questions. He takes copious notes and is an incredible investigator. He never rushes to conclusions, assumptions or lumps my case in with others. He allows the labs and the physical exam to tell him the story and he goes from there with a recommended treatment plan. He is also a doctor who believes in a holistic approach to healing. It is not just about meds and supplements. He believes in proper nutrition, exercise, rest, and meditation. He promised to stick right by me and to provide care to the best of his ability and he has been true to his word. Under normal circumstances I have felt better than most people with a thyroid gland and I have not had to deal with the trauma I hear so many people deal with like balancing meds and getting a doctor to dig deep when one is feeling horrible and visibly impaired by excessive low energy, weight issues, etc. My only concern is that he retires without a ready protégé or mentee. I also mention that he has outstanding tenure among his medical staff. This alone speaks volumes! I highly recommend Dr. Arem and have referred many people who like me travel to Houston from out of state and out of the country. Thank you Dr. Arem for helping me sustain a good quality of life when the odds were against me. Thank you to the warm and friendly staff who have always been responsive when I call and have excellent followup skills.”

She does a fantastic job at reading her class, which varies quite a bit, and includes advanced poses for those needing more while also including ways to modify for others that may need more gentle poses while recovering from surgeries, injuries, etc. I love that she includes natural herbs, essential oils, and sound healing to enhance many of her classes. She’s constantly learning and refining her practice, and passes her knowledge on to her students. Her presence alone is calming and inviting. She’s definitely my favorite yoga instructor!
