“Sometimes you go to a place, and you know you were meant to be there. Yeah, that's a stretch for most establishments (although, the first time I stepped foot inside the Common Bond, I knew I was supposed to be there). But this studio, the Original Henna Company, for me was such a soothing place, that I immediately felt I belonged and should've visited moons ago. Soniya, the owner artist, is simply a beautiful soul. Her dialogue with life and the resulting grace about her is both humbling and inspiring. I mention that first, because I feel like meeting her and getting to know her is a part of the experience, a part of being enveloped by the energy of this calming place. There's a peaceful joy here. Or is it a joyful peace? Either way, it is healing. She is healing. The other reason that I mentioned that first is because her work speaks for itself. A picture tells 1,000 words, so here are my 2,000. Sonya is apparently on a journey to India this summer, but the studio will still be here. She is a certified Yogi and will explore other segments of her journey. Her friends and family will keep the studio open and will continue to offer henna, Yoga, and meditation classes; she'll come back once in a while. Some of the details are up in the air, but isn't that life? I'm just glad I got to catch her before she leaves for a while.”

“This is the fourth location I have been to in Htown. This one is located in the Heights and certainly did not disappoint. They have an excellent assortment of cookies and they are baked fresh daily. “We love Jackson’s Place! We recently moved to Houston and board our dog, Harper, at Jackson’s Place whenever we are out of town. Harper is extremely energetic and loves playing with the other dogs. She always comes home very tired! The staff are all caring and truly love dogs. Deb even took Harper to the vet when we were out of town. I also love that they have a backyard camera and send report cards daily. Jackson’s place is amazing!”
